Richard Ashton from the U.K. always carries his passport. In fact his passport has become a permanent part of his body since he had it tattooed on his back.

According to the Sun, Richard Ashton, 27, a personal trainer from Wandsworth, London, had his passport tattooed onto his back as a memento of a backpacking holiday in Australia in 2005. He said “I wanted something to remember my holiday by, but also wanted something patriotic. My girlfriend at the time thought I was a bit daft, but eventually she found it hilarious. That seems to be the general reaction.”

In similar fashion Bill Passman tattooed a World map on his back that tracks his world travels. After each new country he visits he adds it to his tattoo map.
We see great potential here for Richard Ashton by adding newly obtained passport stamps to his back tattoo after each of his future trips!

Ashton is not allowed to travel overseas brandishing his back as identification, as he is still required to carry a regular passport through customs. However, he revealed that he has used it as ID in order to make a bank withdrawal, whipping of his shirt in an Australian bank.

“The cashier gave me a strange look. She typed in my name and details after reading my tattoo and allowed me $50.”

It is unknown why Ashton,  who has dual citizenship in both the UK and Australia, tattooed the details of his UK passport on his back and if he has plans to add his Aussie passport somewhere on his body.

At least we hope he won’t have any kids that doodle his passport the way they did with the Chinese guy who got stuck in Korea due to his son doodling on his passport. In spite of always carrying his passport he might still get stranded on foreign territory that way.
